Was in NYC over the weekend. Failed to work, failed to be cultured. Instead, ate at Hard Rock Cafe, shopped, and watched a lot of TV in my hotel room. Also, met Tim, who I had not seen for about 2 years now. That was cool. I have done no work. Argh, Chinese quiz.

So it turns out, despite my early hopes of working in NYC this summer, that I will be back in Singapore. I'm interning at a corporate law firm that my uncle is a partner in (oh joy, corporate law. bleargh). Its March, and Spring is not yet here. Its cold, there is snow on the ground, and I can't wait for things to improve. Sigh.

Its not often that I wish I was an American. Yesterday was one of those rare times. The lead negotiator for the Six Party talks with North Korea on disarmament, a career diplomat named Christopher Hill came to speak to our class for a couple of hours, and deliver a few lectures on statecraft. I had a fairly good birthday this year. Low key, just some friends and I, some champagne and wine, and cake, but good nonetheless. The highlight of the party was having my debate team turn acapella group for the night and serenade me with such classic songs as 'My Heart Will Go On' and 'Don't Stop Believing'. So its nearly the end of another semester of Amherst, and I don't really know what to say about things. Taking 5 classes instead of 4 has been somewhat challenging: certainly I won't be complaining about how easy things were any more.
