Oh LOOK. It's the post I've been meaning to make for weeks! Here I am!

Hello everyone.

Welcome to what I imagine will be a post whose order is dictated by the random thoughts that pass through my brain. I have been meaning to post something for quite some time, but let's face it, it hasn't happened.

For a start:

ElementaryI really enjoy this show. I just do. I like what this show choses to do with it's ( Read more... )

ah! I can't agre more with you with elementary. Let's be honest- the reason I dropped sherlock and started watching elementary was because NY Holmes was... well... are they both jerks? yes. But here at least we have a characters who's not perfect and knows it- I can hardly see him admitting to be a sociopath full of pride.
And I lovew, absolutely love his relationship with Watson. I remember that when I read in a newspaper article that she had been casted as a female watson in a modern-day, New York set Sherlock Holmes tv show I was a bit relecutant, but oh, boy, they did good. and she is great. I love the writers. And gregson. We need more and more of him
(ok, I think OI amy be done spilling my love for elementary.)
and for the record, on december 5th, would you mind telling me the top 5 of your fav books of ever?

I had the same concerns when they made Watson a woman. Mostly because it felt like they were doing it just to make the ship more traditionally acceptable. But they obviously weren't. I really enjoy how that show treats its characters.

Also, sure you can have that question, although it is tricky. Seriously tricky. Top two are easy. The reamining three are hard. I'll have to think on it.

I think I rememeber reading the article, asn thinking: "What, did they take a woamn because they want for them to get romantically involved, or because they feared that today two grown up men in their middle-late thierties would look gay and they feared for the numbers of viewers?" When it aired for the first time in Italy on january, I was a bit reluctant, and decided to look at it only bacause it was saturday evening, I was sick so I couldn't go out, and there was nothing else on tv. And I was taken. Especially by Joan-even if I really didn't see the need for the whole "I slept with your brother in London because I thought I would have never seen him again" but i am glad he is back. Now I want to know what's his secret, and if maybe they'll put in him some elemnts from "classic" Mycroft.

Yeah exactly. But the show is really good. Even if you're right, I could have done without Joan and Mycroft sleeping together.

His secret is interesting, because he really isn't like classic Mycroft. It could be cool.

I haven't seen this week's Elementary or Sleepy Hollow, but BLERGH wrt TM is right.

I'm still choosing to believe Bertram isn't Red John because that feels like such a copout. I mean, I don't know how any of them wouldn't feel like a copout to me at this point, but Bertram was the biggest copout of the bunch to me.

I'm choosing to believe Stiles and Haffner aren't dead, also. WHY NOT. You never know with this stupid show.

I want December 11th! And I don't know what I want you to talk about yet, but I can assure you it will be a most excellent topic.

Elementary continues to be it's awesome self, to sum up. And Sleepy Hollow, well, to be honest, I don't think I give it 100% of my attention, but I love the details. Also, Tim Mison's attractiveness ( ... )

Elementary has been more hit and miss for me this season? I mean, it's definitely still one of my favorite shows but there have been a few things that haven't worked for me (e.g. Joan actually slept with Mycroft, which ehhhh no thanks). But I heard last night's episode was good! It's on my DVR. I just haven't watched yet because of school stuff. I am with you on Sleepy Hollow. I'm here for Abbie and Ichabod and Ichabod v. the 21st century, and also Orlando Jones because he's great. I cannot be bothered with the mythology, which seems to be messy-ish not that I'm paying attention ( ... )

Okay, I haven't been wild about every single Elementary episode. Some are kind of meh. Most I enjoy. On average, it's still a way more solid show than most other things. I really wasn't a fan of Joan actually sleeping with Mycroft either. I liked it better when they were just friends, but I hate it more because of how they chose to do Sherlock's reaction. At this point, I'm not annoyed enough about it though for it really affect my feelings towards the show in any significant way ( ... )

Seriously, NO ONE cares about the mythology in Sleepy Hollow, especially since the writers can't be bothered to pick a backstory for Ichabod/Katrina and STICK WITH IT! The Sleepy Hollow writers seem to love Elementary a lot (according to Twitter), so I'm hoping that Katrina will pull a Moriarty and turn out to be the mastermind controlling Moloch and therefore the entire apocalypse. That's probably giving them too much credit though. WHY CAN'T THE HORSEMAN BE THE PHYSICAL EMBODIMENT OF DEATH RATHER THAN SOME JEALOUS DUDE WHOSE FIANCE DUMPED HIM? Death doesn't want anything other than to destroy and that's waaaay scarier, in my opinion.

And regarding Elementary, I thought it was really ominous when Sherlock said, "To thine own self, Watson," at the end. Hey man, don't quote Polonius! No getting stabbed through a curtain for you! D:

I have gotten the impression that NO ONE cares about the mythology on Sleepy Hollow. I just sort of hear it as a buzzing in my brain between perking up because Ichabod is going to attempt to use a computer, or some such.

I DON'T KNOW WHY THE HORSEMAN CAN'T JUST BE THE PHYSICAL EMBODIMENT OF DEATH. I would have preferred that too! I think the reason I mostly hate the jealous dude plotline is that it opens the door for Ichabod and "Death" to resolve their differences, through emotional connection or some other such nonsense. Which, NO. It's just annoying.

I also find the quoting of Polonius ominous, because Sherlock should know that Polonius' advice is to be taken with a grain of salt. There is a reason Shakespeare put that whole speech in the mouth of a character who is essentially a fool. To sum up, No quoting of Polonius! I agree.

I'm loving Elementary, too. I adore Watson, and I love the maturity with which every single episode is written.
