So I think I told you guys that last time he was in town, Burro asked me to teach him to make Lipton Chicken Rice, but I'm not sure. Whether I did or not, the point stands: last time he was in town, Burro asked me to teach him to make Lipton Chicken Rice. For those of you playing along at home, that's the shit with the instructions printed on the ( Read more... )

I am convinced that something very nefarious happens to boys from the age of sixteen onward that makes them, for lack of better term, stupid. They're so sensible until puberty comes along and whacks them over the head and suddenly their logic parts go TERRIBLY HAYWIRE until they turn into adults and grow out of it. Though they tend to retain some... special tendencies. I don't know what it is! And I normally hate to make sweeping generalizations! But EVERY BOY I HAVE EVER MET just loses his ability to like, read directions. Or a map. Or match his own clothing. (Or, in many cases, WASH his own clothing.) I was like 99% convinced my brother was going to die of his own filth when he went to college, but against all logic, he has survived! Which I think is a good sign for Burro!

Then again, my brother is also capable of doing his laundry and making pasta, which evolutionarily speaking puts him at an advantage.

My mother calls it testosterone poisoning. From what I can tell, it doesn't really abate till around age 25 or so.

That is EXACTLY IT. It's like they're on this weird drug until they enter adulthood (whatever age that is, it changes dude to dude) where they just will do the stupidest things and think they're genius ideas and it turns everyone around them into perma-Sassy Gay Friend.

Oh dear. I am DYING of laughter rn. I mean, my younger brother may not be Guy Fieri by any stretch of the imagination, but damn. I don't know whether to applaud the humor of your family, or just shake my head sadly D:D

Having had a similar conversation with my brother about noodles I applaud you for trying to respond. I just sat staring at the phone in awe until he gave up and came over (FROM NEXT DOOR!!!) and got me to do it *facepalms*
