Back home and bloody exhausted

Jun 29, 2005 01:04

Got back late Saturday from a 7 day (was supposed to be 4) excursion with my best friend's family in So. Cal. Details later. I'm still very very tired though. Didn't get a chance to write fic while I was gone. Missed reading it. But at least I got to watch a lot of old school Dr. Who with Tyler (my best friend's son).

The "Details Later". As promised :) part 1 gylzgirl August 17 2005, 21:59:32 UTC
It was Christina, Tyler (her 10 year old son that I basically treat like he's mine), her parents Simon and Lisa in their RV. We left on the Saturday around 7pm and drove to San Luis Obispo, which is on the coast about 4ish hours south of here. We got there around Midnight. We parked in the driveway of Simon and Lisa's friends Joyce and Susan. Simon and Lisa stayed in the house and Christina, Tyler and I slept in the RV. That was fine, except we were on an incline and I woke up about 3 am with a pounding headache and feeling like I was standing on my head. I switched so I felt like I was standing up and that was much better :) Also, I brought a bagload of Doctor Who's for Tyler to watch. I figure this first night is the only night we'll have time to watch, we'll probably be so sleepy every other night. We start "The Five Doctors ( ... )

Tuesday. We get up and take showers. STILL COLD. We're tired already and we go about the same time as we did Monday (9am) by choice this time. We get to the park and find out California Adventure doesn't open until 10. Joy. While we're waiting, Tyler decides to run off and look at something without telling anyone. Just as we notice and start to freak out, he comes walking up. I chew him one and a half new assholes for it, and he cries getting no sympathy from anybody. We go into the park and go to the Muppet 3D thing which I think I liked more than anybody but that's okay. Then Tyler wanted to go on the Tower of Terror ride. I was going to go on (which was brave of me to even delude myself about for the matter of seconds I did because it has both the heights thing and the elevator thing going against it for me). I start worring that this will be an over the shoulders safety belt kind of ride (not a stretchy lap belt like I love Disneyland for) and start flashbacking to when I went to Paramount's Great America and got ( ... )

Wednesday. We all drove over to Knott's Berry Farm (Buena Park, CA) in Christina's parents' RV. I didn't care about going to this park but oh well. Tyler got to go on a couple rides. We saw an old west saloon show. Again, I was the only one who enjoyed it. Chalk up corny next to boring :) We sat down to eat (all of us) and they were playing banjo music for like an hour. I said "I'm white and even I'm getting sick of this damn hillbilly music." Which made Simon choke. (Simon, Lisa, Christina and Susan are all Mexican. Tyler is half.). Tyler wins me a big bird stuffed animal so now he's happy that he got me something too. We left the park about 4 pm and picked up some chicken at one of the little shops just outside the park. Good chicken. Kinda boring amusement park. (last time I went, I was 5). Got back to the RV park so early there was time to go swimming. Tyler couldn't go alone and Christina doesn't swim so I went with him and tried to teach him to tread water. I don't think I swim very well but Christina thinks I ( ... )
