Oh for the good old days, when Torchwood fandom was consumed with the need for S2 to be confirmed asap ( Read more... )

Keep the faith, baby! There will be TW S4. With smiling, happy, real!Jack. Not a doubt in my mind. (I love how some people have tried to claim, he wasn't genuinely smiling there.)

some people have tried to claim, he wasn't genuinely smiling there.

For he must be miserable, and end continue his perpetual days in a monastery... (I suppose it *could* be gas, if you sort of, y'know, squinted, or looked the other way)

I've adored Jack's pragmatism since he sat eating the olives out of his martini while he waited to explode. Through all his long life, that's still the canon!Jack to me who could not *help* but return. There need to be consequences, in order not to cheapen CoE (and yes, I know that's a whole 'nother can of worms. I thought it was brilliant tho. I have a son in school and I was terrified!), but they don't have to involve sackcloth and ashes...

Ah positivity, I remember what that looked like ;) I do still believe it'll come back, it would just be nice to hear something official!

Real!Jack Rules. (I'm putting together a fanmix right now that you might like.)

:D I think we have slightly different ideas of who Jack really is - but at least we both want him happy! (I have no problem with the idea that he loved Ianto, but that doesn't make their relationship some kind of unreal twu wuv, or make Jack monogamous by default, or mean that he couldn't love anyone else at the same time. And dear *god* yes, Jack can be such a beautiful bastard...)

I shall come and have a look-see later :) My morning has ended, time to get the son up...

I second what K said. There will be a TW:S4. Keep the faith. And look at those dimples.

:D It's just so nice to hear people *say* it! (well, read it, you know...)

Keep the faith. And look at those dimples.

You could *build* a faith on those dimples! Actually, I think there are probably worlds where they have...

Shrines to the dimples. I can get behind that. Mmm behind ....

I'm assuming no news to be good news right now... and if it isn't, then that just leaves the way open for as many virtual series as you can eat! :)

And yeah, that's a smile, all right. All the way to the eyes (and dimples!). He'll be okay. :D

I'm mostly inclined this way too - if it was getting close to being pushed off the table, that *would* be news. As it is, it feels as though there are a lot of discussions going on as to where and when, and who will be involved on the production side.

There were noises at one point about there being no more because Rusty had moved to the US - which is, I think, one of the daftest excuses for someone's negative wishful thinking I can imagine!

and if it isn't, then that just leaves the way open for as many virtual series as you can eat! :)

Just so long as they come with dimples too! ;)

ETA: actually, scrub the dimples - I want to read the S4 fic you've been planning! Work? Do you *have* to go?

I have... ideas for a sort-of s3.5 (after, and fully accepting of, CoE, but before any s4), mostly to do with the logistics of getting TW back up and running again. And by 'TW', I don't just mean a handful of misfits in Cardiff, I mean the Institute-at-large, from the viewpoint of someone who actually works in a real-life Victorian scientific institute and occasionally gets the run of others! Field teams are great, but Gwen needs to recruit some proper full-time curators (I don't care what Ianto liked to tell people, it's not a one-man job), dedicated techies, a media liaison... and the field teams. There are likely teams in other parts of the Commonwealth who have been doing their own thing since 2006 (TW:NZ is definitely a part of the Department of Conservation, who have their own fixations on alien invaders in real life), along with the few survivors of TW London and the chap up in Scotland. I'm not sure how interesting it would be anybody else, and canon will - will! - trample it soon enough, but I'd have fun exploring it all ( ... )

Having listened to/watched quite a number of Barrowman interviews over the last few weeks, I'm fairly certain SOMETHING Torchwood is going on. The Jonathan Ross interview was only one of five or so that had him displaying the 'something is going on but I'll get a slap on the wrist if I spill anything' reaction, so I certainly have hope there.

Heh :) The effort it must have taken him not to just *tell*. It's all that enthusiasm, the man positively bubbles with it. Wonderful to watch from a distance, but he must be *exhausting* to spend time with.

Yup, it does feel like something's simmering. RL has been very annoying of late though, and I want some good news now! Ah well, patience...

(I can't keep up with the Barrowman's media machine. The man is entirely too ubiquitous for my TV watching habits to keep up with - not that that's a *bad* thing. He even got a mention on QI, as an example of someone who could scare predators away with dazzle :))

I'd like to think that he's capable of downtime when he's not "on" ... well, maybe not :P, but indeed, I do like watching him. The digitalspy interview is also a good one to dissect for facial reactions and whatnot in regards to the "more Torchwood or not?" matter. Would be sweet to get something definite from either the BBC or hell, Fox, just ... something, after they confirmed Sarah Janes series 4 and 5 now, I believe. I know a lot of people have been waiting for Being Human's finale (that I still haven't watched) and a press release after, but that hasn't happened yet either, so -- oh man, waiting games aren't fun.

I do have to admit to keeping up with whatever Barrowman does. *shifty eyes* I just like KNOWING things, lol, or guessing things, as it may be.

I shall have to go and look at that :)

There have been so many seemingly perfect moments to announce S4 recently, and I keep telling my monitor so, but it just isn't listening...

The Being Human finale is ... :D Hope you enjoy it!
