Apparently Sasha was feeling a bit aggrieved that I never acknowledged her keypunching prowess. Meanwhile, I was feeling aggrieved that she never seemed to do any keypunching. Both of us independently spoke to the Angel Organizer about it.
I’m impressed you got to the “why” of her not saving: she’s used to Google docs! Now I’m alerted to one more “thing that must be taught” that I, too, would have assumed.
But to think, she had the nerve to complain about your ingratitude. Will you point it out to her, the way that her effort didn’t actually translate to production, on this particular task?
She had previously said she wanted some feedback from me, and that's fair. So I have been on the lookout for things to praise her about.
Looking, looking,... I want to give negative feedback sometimes, but restrain myself because long experience says I will just create a culture where they are afraid to try, plus they get flustered and can't hear it anyway. So when I find two positives I can do one training moment on something they are doing wrong.
I *love* finding positives. It makes me happy to see and notice good work. We all knew I was in the lookout for it.
My last year at Block, I had a coworker with the same amount of years preparing as I did (3), and this woman absolutely refused to enter 1099-SSA forms into the software because "social security is not taxable." We had at least 3 prior clients show up with nastygrams from the IRS about the unreported benefits, all of whom had been prepared by this woman. And she *still* refused to input the form. I hope that she either retired or was successfully remediated.
LoL, I save the *really* bad stuff for behind friends lock.
I have been blogging for over ten years at LJ, you're welcome to glance through. We kept bees for a while, check for a tag for that. I had a business start and fail between 2012 and 2015, it was a bit grim for a while, but check out tags about revamping for that. I travel, too, but not as much as you. I'm dealing with some challenges that are under a tighter filter, but the run-of-the-mill employer challenges are open to you now. :-)
Nice to meet you! When I have more time I'll go back through your tags, too!
