I totally read that as the investigation slipping into corrupt hands and wondered why she didn't just take it back from Lightman then

Wait wait wait, I finally join Team Henri, and then you tell me I was right to be cautious? This is not okay. Ohhhh Gillian. ...unless it's a "hold your breath in anticipation" kind of breath-holding. Maybe. I'll just wait and see. And not worry so much. Babygirl can take care of herself. And has, apparently, given that these are FLASHBACKS.

Don't run out of steam! I love this story and am always delighted when you post a new chapter.

I'll be honest, the Henri/Gillian flashbacks are probably my least favorite to read, but I do like the backstory it gives Gillian (and I know that many other readers especially love them).

I'm all about the Cal/Gillian moments - perfect example, the courtroom situation lol. I love that Cal was checking her out in the middle of court (heh, and that Foster put the kibosh on it - but deep down still totally loved that he did it)

I'm also interested in what's going on with this Le Fort character. And of course the Zoe/everybody dynamic is always entertaining. I'm looking forward to the Thanksgiving dinner chapter!

You'll see the reason for Henri in about two chapters. A lot of things will fall into place I assure you. Sorry you don't like it though!

Glad you enjoyed the Cal/Gill moments. Those are the easiest to write. LOVE THEM SO MUCH.
