Is it a customary Halloween ritual to leave such parts lying around?

What are customary Halloween rituals? I have heard talks of it at home, however, never experienced it.

Not in my world. Especially not leaving kidneys in places where I think they're ingredients for steak and kidney pie.

Why would you eat a kidney? It is the dirtiest part of the body.

Not if you prepare it properly. Anyway, steak and kidney pie tastes good.

Carving pumpkins is a custom around this time of the year. Originated from Ireland, I believe.

Ja. Kids dress up and go from house to house to get candy. It's called "trick-or-treat" because if you don't give any candy, they're supposed to play a trick on you.

What type of trick? I thought there was no torture involved.
