We got the rain but none of the damaging winds. I agree with you and Kate, we're definitely turning more desert/prairie-like every year. And the way the storms just seem to be demolishing towns... Yeah.
We're still hitting around 110 every day, but we have some 90s in the forecast around the weekend. I'm skeptical but eager to see a high of 93 on Sunday. :D It's nice to walk outside and not feel that hot towel wrap around your head.

i think july was the 4th hottest month ever. we were breaking dust bowl records.
we're in a 'chance of rain every day' pattern, which is fine with me...and it was so nice to step out of work tonight and not be greeted by blasting hot wind. the breeze was actually cool
I honestly think, had we not learned our soil conservation lesson in the 30's, we'd be in another dust bowl.
