Colored Carefresh bedding!

Nov 26, 2008 18:48

I love how Carefresh now comes in colors! However, I was wondering if you guys knew of any possible cons of using colored bedding.

Today was the first time we tried some purple Carefresh!

I'll probably be the first to say that the cage you have for Harvie and Abby is WAY too small for two piggies. They really need a C&C cage for the best possible health.

Haha, I figured someone was going to point that out. I do not have the money nor the room in my house to have a C&C setup, or I definitely would. I let the little buggers run around though on the floor several times a day (I have guinea-proofed it.)

C&C cages are cheaper in general than store-bought cages. Also, even with a small area to keep them in, you can always make a multi-level C&C cage.

how do you make a multi-level C&C cage, if I might ask?

They are so cute! And the purple bedding makes their cage look so colorful :3 I haven't heard any cons yet (other than the price!).

Hehe, yes! They look like they're shocked and not liking the color though ^_^

That's true, the colored Carefresh is more expensive.

I love the colors, but yep, price! So far, I've only seen it in little bags. When I buy Carefresh, I buy the whopping huge bags of the ugly brown stuff :)

Hee, I love the colored carefresh. :3 I bought a huge bag of blue and a huge bag of pink last time I went to the pet store, and I've been mixing them in fun combinations ever since.

The only downside I can think of, since trying the pink, is that it might make it a little harder to see if there are any UTI issues? If they're peeing blood or anything, it might blend in with the pink. Hopefully, though, you could notice that just from looking at the pig. (I'm not really sure, since Sid's never had a UTI.) I don't think anything like that would be an issue with the purple, though. (I wish they'd had purple when I went! It's so cute.)

Actually that's an interesting point, I hadn't even thought of that before. And what a cute idea, mixing colors ^_^
