Again, this focuses on race and how the Republican Party has pretty much ignored the black vote. Which is, unfortunately, true (although there were several high profile races last November involving black Republican candidates, but they all lost). But again, I think it's indicative of the GOP's increasingly white heterosexual male outreach.

A fair point. Although there are many women who vote Republican (just as religious/socially conservative as guys). I thought about putting down WASP, but I think Judeo-Christian is more accurate (P of course is Protestand, and Catholics are Christians too...as are Mormons and the like). Most Republicans are strong proponents of Israel, for example, and thus Jews are certainly welcome.

But yeah, it doesn't feel like there's much of a "big tent" these days.

Some groups believe that the Messiah (whether Jesus or someone else) will appear around the time of an apocalyptic battle in Jerusalem. Traditionally the Messiah would then lead the Jews to victory.

As I read it, it said that self-professed heterosexual who same sex attraction (not necessarily having actual sex with a member of the same sex) are at the highest risk.

Also the article made the point that being gay wasn't a risk factor...it was being persecuted for being gay. So if you were at a school in which people were accpeting of your orientation then there were no problems.

There is a lot of hype that gay kids are more suicidal," she said. "My study shows that this is not so. In my study, being victimized for being gay was the risk factor that increased suicidal- behavior risk."
