Grindeldore AU: Eden, double drabble of a blissful ever after

Nov 10, 2007 14:08

I felt so bad for the Worst in the last drabble, I had to write a happy, Jossverse happy.

What if there was nothing left and Gellert took Albus with him when he ran?

I want to put together five drabbles and post it to grindeldore later, under "Five Other Worlds" or something. I can't think of an Albus/Gellert AU that is completely happy. I like this one though, poor Albus and his night terrors, and Gellert knowing every moment why.

I like to think though, that if eventually Albus remembers when they are very old, he wouldn't storm away angry. He'll be a little broken, but after what they've been doing with their "Tabula Rasa", good things, he wouldn't be completely unhappy that he's still alive.

LOL, my fandom, let me show you it hohaiyee November 10 2007, 21:09:13 UTC
I do intend it to be creepy, but happy, hence, Jossverse happy!

Jossverse refers to the worlds written by Joss Whedon. Mostly that of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel...but now, also, his dark space opera Firefly. The grand and tragic romance of Dumbledore and Grindelwald is a relative exception in J.K. Rowling's world of happy endings, but in Jossverse; standard. (So the fans weren't just shocked at what happened to Willow and Tara met tragic ends, but how, namely that magic was used as a metaphor for their lesbian love in previous season, but when they can be shown physically together, the network 'forgot' about what magic was used as a metaphor for, and have addiction to magic as Willow's path down to darkness which included such staples as endangering a minor through 'magic ( ... )

I *adore* AUs involving happily-ever-after!Albus and Gellert, even when they are a bit creepy. I think Dumbledore/Grindelwald is the most fascinating pairing in the whole series because at the same time it's so tragic, I feel like Albus and Gellert had the capacity to become the sweetest, truest, most faithful lovers, eternally devoted to each other and together capable of doing so much good for the world. (Look at what Albus accomplished on his own, even with all that grief on his shoulders.)

When I think of Albus/Gellert, I think of sunlight and dewy gardens, morning and summer rain, and deep, passionate love that doesn't end for the world. The image you've created here really strokes the romantic in me, and I would love it if you expanded on this!

They are tragic because it really could have been so beautiful and happy had things not went wrong. I think, a looming darkness was there all along, what Gellert got expelled for, and him using an unforgivable curse on his boyfriend's little brother. If they had met some other way though, before Gellert got dark, got lost, it would have been wonderful. Or if someone manage to pull Gellert out of his darkness ( ... )

Gellert would be the most unhappy one here, though it's still a happy ending because he still feels happy being with Albus.

The major problem is of course, now, there is a Secret they can't share, one of the hottest aspect of Gellert and Albus's sex life, has to be the mindsex, like in Hallowing Lions by wired-lizard, it would be so intense, for the two of them to find an equal at last, some one whose mind they can touch every inch of let touch. Maybe after Albus eventually finds out they can do it.

Another happy(?) one I'm working on, has Albus as the headmaster of Hogwarts, and Gellert by his side, Gellert whose wand has been snapped when he decided to stay, and it feels like captivity to him. I wouldn't know which is angstier...

I <3 mindsex. Somehow a large number of my fandoms all find ways to make it canonically possible...

I, too, have a Hogwarts AU, although in mine Albus and Gellert are happily married with no secrets between them, the two of them having finally come to their senses concerning the whole ruling-the-world thing.
