I felt so bad for the Worst in the last drabble, I had to write a happy, Jossverse happy.

What if there was nothing left and Gellert took Albus with him when he ran?

I do intend it to be creepy, but happy, hence, Jossverse happy!

Jossverse refers to the worlds written by Joss Whedon. Mostly that of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel...but now, also, his dark space opera Firefly. The grand and tragic romance of Dumbledore and Grindelwald is a relative exception in J.K. Rowling's world of happy endings, but in Jossverse; standard. (So the fans weren't just shocked at what happened to Willow and Tara met tragic ends, but how, namely that magic was used as a metaphor for their lesbian love in previous season, but when they can be shown physically together, the network 'forgot' about what magic was used as a metaphor for, and have addiction to magic as Willow's path down to darkness which included such staples as endangering a minor through 'magic'.)

In season six, control freak!Willow speeds way over the line. She started using strong magic for everything. When they have to look for Dawnie (Buffy's little mythically created sister that Willow and Tara practically adopted after the senior Summers women died) at the Bronze(nightclub), Willow suggest sending everyone who was not Dawn's age into an alternate dimension, just for a sec, so they can find Dawn easier. Tara, the sensible girlfriend, naturally objects because so many things can go wrong, and start to 'nag' Willow over all the lines she has been crossing. When Tara ask if she was supposed to just shut up, Willow said that it would be a start! When they were getting into bed, Tara was still angry, and instead of addressing what's wrong, Willow uses Lethe's Bramble to make Tara forget their fight and then crawls into bed with a happy Tara. CREEPY.

While that's partly where I got the idea, the situation is not the same. If both Ariana and Alberforth had died, and Albus attributes himself as the cause, then pretty much the only happy ending that can be seen at that point, was to make him forget. I feel so bad for Albus but I feel so bad for Gellert too, because Gellert does love Albus. Whereas in season six, Willow got to a point where she doesn't love Tara like a /person/ anymore, I don't see that with Gellert. For Gellert, Albus isn't just precious because Albus loves him, Albus is precious because he's Albus.

...and it's not a false reality, the life they are living are real, because I think that if it weren't for their character flaws, world domination and all, such a life they could live together. People in small towns, well, some of them would be happy to let autocrats run things provided that the autocrats run things well AND don't get in the way of civil liberties. I believe that sweet Albus can do that, and Gellert would be too preoccupied with 'keeping Albus happy' to be autocratic to the people. In canon, Gellert dies to protect Albus's grave. I think in this story, he would devote himself to making Albus happy, beyond just making him forget the unhappy, because he would be very guilt ridden.
