I'm sitting in a hotel room in Pomona, CA waiting for Kristen to be finished with the first day of her PE exam.  She felt good about the morning 4 hour test and the afternoon test is almost over.  Hopefully she feels nearly as good about this one as she did about the morning test.  Her boss has told her that the afternoon test is usually a bit more ( Read more... )

A really low (~300) turnout in Vegas for the WPT Championship and a ridiculously huge (~1200) turnout in San Remo seems to support my decision to skip the 25k and go right on to Monte Carlo for the EPT Grand Finale.  Kristen and I are leaving Sunday, directly after her PE exam on Saturday.  I'm excited to play a tournament for the first time in a ( Read more... )

The WSOP Academy was alot of fun and very tiring.  It forced me to work on my game while helping others.  I really learned alot while teaching and I will definitely do it again if I get a chance.  The SCOOP is over and didn't go particularly well for me.  I cashed 4 or 5 times, all for the minimum or close to it.  My best showing was a 40th place ( Read more... )

I had a good Sunday this week.  It's been quite a while since I've been able to say that.  I cashed in 5 of the Sunday tournaments, including a 2nd place in the 100k guarantee for about 19k.  I also won a $20 180 person sit n go and finished 2nd and 7th in two $60 90 person sit n goes.  Overall, a good day and a nice bit of profit.  I won again ( Read more... )

I cleared my first 4k bonus of the year Tuesday and I booked a win so it felt like I won quite alot.  I won again yesterday and it feels really good to have consecutive winning days.  I didn't play too much yesterday as I had an appointment with an accountant and ceramics class, but it is still nice to win a couple of days in a row.

I did a bunch of stuff last week, let's see...  I played about 30k hands, I now have 120k VPPs for the year.  It's coming along slowly, but if I can keep up my current pace, I will get to one million VPP by the end of the year.  Of course, I have other obstacles in my way, because if this current downswing continues for much longer, I may shoot ( Read more... )
