So, umm, hi, long-time lurker here. I love how detailed your posts are, and they often correlate to my keyboard flailing ("Stylist fail! Camera fail! Ooh, Yuri!" etc). I was a Tiffany fan at first, she got me hooked onto the whole group, and I think I can say that my SNSD favs were Tiffany-Jessica-Yuri in that order, until I read all your posts, and got hooked onto the awesome underdog that is Hyo. I havec a special place in my heart reserved for JeTi, wish more people shipped YulTiSic, but I think Hyo has a special place in my heart now, thanks to you! I'm not actually a big big fan of Taeyeon and Yoona, although I like them, think they're pretty and dorky etc--they just don't make me go AWWWWWW!! or oooooh! or BWAHAHAHAHA like JeTiYulHyo (argh, what a mouthful

First, thank you for saying hi. =) Feel free to jump in on any post that catches your fancy; I love to share spazzing and discussion in equal (or unequal, depending on your mood) amounts. I usually have my Hyo!blinders on, so if you want to bring your member-of-choice!commentary, I welcome it because I for sure don't catch everything--and I know other people would appreciate it, too

Oh, for Genie, I like Rino's cheoro, but I don't think it fit the song as well as it could have (sacrilege!!). The cheoro moves seem to distance the girls from the audience, rather than drawing them in, as I would imagine the lyrics to be doing, sucking the hapless wisher into a world controlled by these genies. In fact, I was rather miffed that SM didn't play to the female demographic by placing these girls in positions of power in the MV, e.g. showing them fulfilling wishes/driving a cool car on a night out. (The opening of the song, with the heels and all? That makes me think the intended MV actually had something like that. But it's just my guess...) For me, Genie is the song that-could-have-been: the chorus when they roll their hips slowly in unison and Taeng starts belting it out and the girls are hypnotically going "I love you, I'm your dream/fortune" in the background? Sheer pop ecstasy. But the cheoro doesn't quite bring it out. My amateur two-cents worth :D

I was disappointed that we didn't get something much more active from Rino, especially knowing Rino's work. The first time I saw the leg kicks, I laughed at loud and went, "WTH, Rino?" I've come to understand why she gave them what she did and I thought it was an interesting contrast to go from choreo like "Gee" that utilized a lot of upper body movement (but don't think it wasn't all about the hips, because it was) to "Genie" that was all about legs. I think "Genie" choreo actually focused on the kind of "goddess" aspect of the song, since the girls focused so much on expressions that were haughty, seductive--that may be where that "distant" feeling is coming from. It kind of feels like "beauties on a pedestal." It was also a marked contrast in "Gee" in how it kept the stage dynamic in a guessing way those first performances. The formations weren't like "Gee" where all the action was centered. "Genie" comes at you from all directions. It's not my favorite choreography in the world, but it gave me more to chew on and watch out for

Random Talk: you know, I was watching YT videos of the Melon Awards yesterday and reading some biased fan comments I've realized that although I don't buy it when fans talk about the Powerof9, I'm a big supporter of the Powerof9 when it comes to the girls themselves and their friendships.I've always thought myself to be 99% a Hyo fan and liking the rest by association, but reading the comments there and wanting to defend whichever one was attacked made me realize that my head hasn't caught up to my heart.So maybe now I'm 90% a Hyo fan and the remaining 10% is for the 8. keke.

Absolutely. There was a comment on toebeast's sub of Strong Heart that went something like, "I don't like Hyo. Hyo and the others should respect TaeYeon more" and I just sat here thinking, "Are we fans of the same group? Do you realize that the other girls were willing to let TaeYeon step down as leader because they--specifically Hyo--thought it would relieve her from that burden? Do you realize that they are friends? WTH?" I don't get it.

Speaking of liking the girls together, I was laughing at this news cut (post GDAs, I believe) because when Hyo was explaining the differences between the "Gee" and "Genie" choreography, a) SooYoung was watching her so intently, b) YoonA started laughing and then everyone started

Haha, a girl can dream! But... you're right. Most of the misses for the girls' outfits usually occur during big events, award shows, special performances/concerts, etc. I should prepare for the worst.

Hm, definitely Fany. I think as time goes by, it became easier to differentiate Fany and Sica's English speaking voices. Plus, I can't imagine Sica yelling that haha.

It's funny because when SNSD came to Hollywood Bowl, I wasn't at the point that I would want to go and I'm not really the type of person to go to concerts alone. However, if I were over there right now, I would totally go with you. =(

Just ignore the "Strong Heart" comments. Not worth it. I, too, can't believe the reactions this has been stirring. You'd think the end of the worldgroup had come. I think it's interesting that there has been this type of reaction, especially when TaeYeon pretty much says herself on the show (in a roundabout way) that she'd made that suggestion to the others in an attempt to . . . pretty much fish for compliments. And I'm not surprised the others reacted like that. TaeYeon has sent out mixed signals on this subject as recent as "Gee": her message during the heart-to-heart talk on "ChinChin" was all about, "I don't feel like I'm the leader of this group because everyone is a leader." *sigh* The annoying thing is, it's the fans that are making me feel annoyed about Taeng even telling this story! I didn't
