fuck, done for the semester. I can't really complain, because I had only one final to take, but it was painful.

now: time to do the laundry, get clean, work on my abs, grab food, take care of student e-mails, and watch a movie over wine maybe.

should I neither get into any PhD programs nor find legit employment, there's always the option of moving blind to Los Angeles, California / Kimberly, Oregon, snagging a day job at a ghetto coffee-shop, and excavating stuff (i.e. gaining field paleo experience) at the tar pits / John Day Fossil Beds in my free time. I didn't have much of a weekend, what with re-taking my general GRE yesterday afternoon and taking a midterm this morning, so tonight I went with Laura to see Blue Velvet at the Michigan Theater. I felt slightly more cultured afterwards. then I went home and popped open a PBR.

this year I'm spending Thanksgiving with relatives in Holland(, Michigan) again. this time though I might be bringing one of two potential special guests! ... uhh.

yesterday: adviser and I found out that after this year I can no longer apply for a NSF pre-doctoral fellowship, which means that I should apply either right now or never; consequently, much agonizing on whether I should cobble together a proposal at the last minute, terminating in a literal nightmare; anxiety's even higher than I thought, seeing ( Read more... )

at Afternoon Delight with Laura and Mari, in line for brunch. it's like Disneyland! -- in that the line's out the door, and then we get into the door and are all like OK SWEET, but then it turns out that the line actually continues into the store.
