haha, ok.
me: I invited my new friend over for dinner because he's new in town and I thought it'd be nice to have him meet some folks
house-mates: we thought it was a date; it looked like a date
=_______________________________= no way. if there's anything still very Filipino about me, it's my impulse for hospitality and courtesy, even to individuals whom I've just met. but people here, even my close friends, seem to read it the wrong way :(
