So today I turned 37. I hope to all the Gods and Goddesses and Angels and anything else that cares about me that this will mark the end of the Year of Hell, just as last birthday was the start, when my shithead brother decided to get himself too drunk to drive over and see me on my birthday

Yeah, my friends have been my saving grace. They and the kids are what I cling to.

Your real family are your kids. Keep them n your heart and that is the best present you can ever get for your birthday. The others that share your genes are no good for your heart. Being positive is also another great b-day gift to yourself. Sending you lots of good energy.

Thanks. That's exactly what I'm doing, though sometimes it's hard. But mostly, I'm thankful for what I have and determined to work hard to get more.

And yeah, the kids are everything. They're what's keeping me going.

And you know what - after I was laid off in November, I asked a friend to do a Tarot reading for me. She said that it was useless to look for a job right then, but that I would find one in the Spring. I got the lead on the job in April, and I started in June. So if the cards say your life will turn to awesome - if you apply a bit of effort to help fate - your life will turn to awesome. Amen. :)
