Jesus God on a moped, it's currently 45˚F in Birmingham, while it's 60˚F here. Honestly, where is the secret volcanic eruption? Or asteroid impact (the Russian meteor was much too small, maybe by an order of magnitude)? When I was a kid, we called this sort of mess a blackberry winter.
