Side note: It's depressing and sadly predictable how often the boiling frog hypothesis has been tested.
Another side note: I've tested the new "like" feature on your post. Hopefully it will be some encouragement for you if people use it. I expect there are a few people around like me, who hold back on posting to avoid being annoying or seeming stalky. The heart needs to be labelled though. Not everyone will recognise it from Twitter.

It's amazing how much more tense I am about this election than about the prospect of a near-miss asteroid fly-by. I just want this one to be a near miss, too. We are too close already.
