There's another two to four inches of snow on the way. But, on the other, we're supposed to see temperatures rise to 50˚F on Wednesday. Sooner or later, this stuff has to melt. Right now, it's 11˚F.

Already, the end of February. Die, winter, die.

There's a place at Comic Con for artists and writers to meet and it always seems like the ratio of artists to writers is one to fifty. A rare bird, the artist.

You want to understand wide carnivorous skies and the vertigo and terror they inspire? This church spire knows all about it. Just ask.

Reminds me of Bergman's Winter Light.

Back in the cabin, Hubero thinks about cooking. He seriously seems to believe that the stove is a bed.

Heh. He looks like expects to help hatch something.

I spotted these two deer, a doe and her fawn, maybe fifty feet from my desk.

Ah, beautiful. Nice photos all around.

We drove to Saugerties yesterday, a small town on the Hudson, ten miles or so east of here.

My god-aunt lives in Saugerties. I was there for the first time in 2000, when I sang at her wedding.

Autolycus has recently staked out the top of the garbage can. It sits in a particularly strong slant of light. He refuses to accept our argument that this is not a sensible long-term occupation.

Expressive pics...

Wide carnivorous skies and church spires. They weren't built that way to reach up to God and honor him, they were built as a guard against the time those carnivorous skies would fall down on the world. Knives reaching up in defiance and fear.
