Over time, I've tried to make peace with the idea that parenting has become an industry. The availability of information in this day and age means that there's often way too much information, shouting at you from every corner, with very few tools to help you discern what's true, and more importantly, what's right for your family ( Read more... )

Has anybody discussed diet with you? Because Seth was a very angry little boy until we removed dairy from his diet. Gluten's also a trigger for him, but less so than dairy and you mentioning mac and cheese (which would be a massive no-no!) makes me wonder whether that wouldn't REALLY help calm him down. Within three days of going dairy free, Seth was so much calmer and at his age, it's easier to get him to eat other stuff than when he's older and eating habits are seriously entrenched ( ... )

I can tell you are doing a good job with him because you think about what you are doing and try to do what's best for him, rather than making parenting and being a kid be all about you. Of course we all make it about us sometimes, but you know to keep coming back to him and you keep trying.
