Over time, I've tried to make peace with the idea that parenting has become an industry. The availability of information in this day and age means that there's often way too much information, shouting at you from every corner, with very few tools to help you discern what's true, and more importantly, what's right for your family

Hugs. I wish I knew what to say. I teach and aide for kids like this in high school. Tim is amazing and will blossom even more. It will happen. Hang in there.

I have heard similar criticisms of ABA from autistic and neurodivergent grown-ups on Twitter, actually. I'm sorry it's so hard, I can't imagine what it's like but having challenges of charting new communication on top of regular parenting would overwhelm anybody. You love him and you look for the good--that's not nothing. *hugs*
