((IT TOOK FOREVER TO DECIDE WHO TO PUT IN.))

Frederick was on his way to class, as well; only with the next hour being studentless, he was hoping to get caught up on some paperwork which had piled up on him a bit in the past few days since school had started again. Tuesdays were his favorite days (aside from the weekend, obviously), as he had fewer classes. Catch-Up Day, he called it.

To himself, anyway. If he'd said that aloud to anyone else, they would have surely thought him a dork.

He rounded the corner just in time to see one of the Gryffindors -- very familiar, she was -- lifting her fist and cursing the heavens. He couldn't stop the grin that came to his face as he drew closer and lifted his brows curiously.

"Arch-nemesis at it again?" he asked, finding her reaction so comical that he couldn't help himself. And then he realized why she looked so familiar. It was that same cheeky monkey that had him nearly rolling with laughter in the professor's lounge last year!

"Professor York!" Lauren smiled, laughing slightly because he'd caught her cursing, as well as finding his reaction amusing. They hadn't exactly talked yet, since school just started, but she would never forget that time in the lounge they'd spent together. It was a priceless memory.

She shook her head at his question before shrugging, "Actually it's not an arch-nemesis, though I have plenty of those and I'm sure they'll start plotting schemes of evil against me soon. For now it's just the fact that I can't find my chewing gum!" Now she frowned, her lips forming a pout, "I'm not gonna lie, I'm kind of addicted to the stuff. I always carry it with me and to--" Lauren cut herself off, her eyes increasing in size as a thought struck her ( ... )

It was a good thing that Frederick taught a core class. Had he been the professor of Muggle Studies, or Runes, or something else in which he didn't have the opportunity to learn students names from early on, he'd have not known how to address her. He was awful with names ( ... )

He better remember her name!!! Lauren made a point to make sure people remembered her name, and if her very own Professor of Potions couldn't do it -- a class which she was dearly fond of(fond of both the content and the teacher) -- then that would just be kind of sad and she would have had to make more of an effort. But anyway, he did know her name, so she wasn't even thinking about that ( ... )
