mitts are a true addiction. i knitted many of them as gifts for friends and family last year... some of which i forgot to take a picture of. but these puppies, i made for the wife and me! i was knitting this particular pair because it was unnaturally cold in these parts last fall. LOVE. they are so warm.

i was going to the office this morning but it began to snow this hard. z's first skating adventure
on tuesday night, vancouver was a snowy winter wonderland. but the falling snow was replaced by sleet in the morning, and so the fluffy stuff didn't still around for as long as the first snowfall of the season.

finally, a walk in the woods
i've been trying to get our family to the woods since the summertime. alas, no matter how top of mind or accessible a walk in the woods has been all this time, it just did not happen.
finally, on new year's day, we took a short bus ride to pacific spirit park, where a trail afforded us an opportunity to comfortably bring the stroller.

brrr...
the last 2 days have been unusually cold.
which means there been a first ever taste of real hot chocolate (milk + milk chocolate callebaut). there was a bit of dancing after every sip.
