Over the weekend I got some scratches on my hands from playing with Chava when she was in a feisty mood. No big deal, just a part of owning cats, and I was already on antibiotics for something else (yes, I know how targeted antibiotics are these days). Etc

I've had a lot of cat scratches over the years, usually from a cat who is very much my kitty friend and is just "off" at the time the scratch happens. On the whole, I have always found it worth it. (You probably already know I am a serious cat fan, and am very happy whenever I have one curled up on my lap or my shoulder.) Still, I am very pleased that Louie's and my current three cats don't include a single serious scratcher; it's easier this way. (And yeah, physical health stuff is right up there amid the things that make one bitch about getting older; but what can't be cured must be endured. And if it can be cured, but takes work? Life has *always* been full of trade-offs.)
