Since arriaving at the old military barracks in France, the men have been in Heaven. A chance for some much deserved rest, recovery, and refitting. Winter gear wasn't high on the list of items for a full rifle company though. They were snugs as bugs in a rug ( Read more... )

"David Baker" is sitting two over from Skip, and rolls his eyes at the interruptions. In spite of the fact that the movie is in black and white, he's actually enjoying the show enough that he's probably heard in the quiet chorus of people telling Luz to shut up.

Honestly? It's the first picture he's seen in a few years, and that alone makes him want to enjoy it a bit more.

The quiet wasn't going to last for much longer either, sadly. "David" has to slide over a bit when Don comes in. "Take me with you next time." That's the tip. "I should be able to do better than that at blackjack."

Three faces turn in David's direction all three soon splitting in half with wide grins. "We'll start tomorrow," Skip answered with a grin. "Then we can hit Paris and live the high life!"

"How much better? Got a few in Dog that I think we can probably wipe clean of all their back pay." Pocketing the money Malark glanced between his two friends and back to Baker.

Up a few seats George was watching the movie intent, eyes wide and cigarette between his fingers.

"I warned you about this girl, a month ago."

"Oh, won't anybody give you a light?"

"Lip, favorite part," Luz said as he leaned forward toward the First Sergeant.

"Well, you took the words right out of my mouth."

Then it started. Simple at first but more dramatic as the radioman went on. "Got a penny?"

"Got ah..penny?"

"Got a penny?" the actress on the screen spoke.

Lipton turned giving the most annoyed expression towards Luz he could ever muster. Of course the loudmouth of the group just laughed. "What?"

"Sure, it's an English penny..."
