Milliways: Mourmelon-la-Grande, December 16th 1944
Since arriaving at the old military barracks in France, the men have been in Heaven. A chance for some much deserved rest, recovery, and refitting. Winter gear wasn't high on the list of items for a full rifle company though. They were snugs as bugs in a rug!
Hitler was going to be rather stupid to try anything in the dead of winter.
Inside the movie hall a handful of guys were watching Seven Sinners, scattered about or in groups all staring up at the old black and white. Except one man though, a cigarette dangling from his lips from time to time. "Look at me, I'm John Wayne," Luz says in his best drawn out Wayne impression, "The costume department set me up with these great navy whites."
Carwood Lipton turned around along with Joe Toye both glaring daggers at the radio man. "Luz, shut up."
"I'm trying to watch this," Toye spoke just as deadpan as ever.
Luz just grined, winking over at Bonzo who was a few seats away before raising his hand and motioning to the screen. "I've seen this movie 13 times, okay?"
Joe let out a held breath of frustration. "Well, I haven't, so, shut up."
"Watch the movie, it's fine."
This was going to be interesting.
