Time never stopped moving on this side of the door. War still raged without a break and no door back into Milliways. Easy moved closer and closer to the border then into Germany. Men were lost, men were gained. It was a never ending circle when there is a war going on.
Then the War ended.
They were going home.
Home was hard to adjust to at first. Still hopes of there being a door back into the Bar at the End of the Universe where his friends were at. His other friends- some he saw more as brothers really. None of them seemed to have found the door again. Noone knew why.
There were marriages.
Births.
Deaths.
Time moved.
Standing a good ways back in the cemetary dressed in his class A's a young man crossed his arms infront of him, clasping his hands together and watching without so much as an expression on his face. It was a decent day outside where the weather had held out though jackets were still needed. 1600 people had turned out. All for him. He had seen Frank, Major Winters..everyone from Easy who could make it in their old age. But there George stood away from everyone else watching, only somewhat listening.
He had tried to get their attention, tried to comfort Del and their children but...there was only so much one could do when they weren't really there.
Reaching down he picked up the dufflebag that rested by his side. He had always heard in the stories that when you died you sometimes you reverted back into a time where you were most happy. Luz had to admit, throughout all the trouble of the War he had been his happiest with Easy. Glancing between a row of headstones he moved toward the wooden door that was there with the laziest of smiles upon his face.
He was going home.
