Hello again. I’ve been busy since we last spoke. I worked on a commercial and a music video last week, but the filmmaking work has generally been slow. I’m still planning to go to business school this fall. This weekend I worked on New York auditions for a new reality show. It was a lot of fun, and it was my first show for a broadcast network. The prizes for the winners of the show are the leading roles in an upcoming revival of a Broadway show which contains the immortal lyrics:

During my current period of unemployment, I’ve developed a strange obsession with the 1960’s television series Green Acres. I watched Sweet Smell of Success this weekend. It’s a classic film (1957) with Burt Lancaster and Tony Curtis about the strange relationship between a gossip columnist and a publicity agent. I discovered that the screenplay was written by Clifford Odets. Odets was famous in the ’30’s as a member of the pioneering acting troupe, the Group Theatre ( Read more... )

I went Rollerblading for the first time this afternoon. I got the ’blades last winter second-hand from a friend who had somehow been stuck with a pair in my size. Veronica Mars premiered last night with the dubious distinction of being the returning show which had the smallest audience last year. It was a very good episode. Last week I started working on my second feature as a 2nd 2nd Assistant Director. Yesterday at wrap, I was told I was done working on the film. So, my schedule has unexpectedly opened up, and I’m looking for another job.

Actually, it’s two new shows and new seasons of two others. I saw the first episode of Big Love, and I found it interesting, but less so than The Sopranos or the early seasons of Six Feet Under.
