I went Rollerblading for the first time this afternoon. I got the ’blades last winter second-hand from a friend who had somehow been stuck with a pair in my size. My wife had been a ’blader before we were together, and I imagined us skating together often, but it hasn’t really happened yet. Still, it was a good low-impact cross-training as I prepare for the Staten Island half-marathon this weekend.
In other news, we went with my wife’s uncle to see
The Queen yesterday. I found it to be an excellent film--not a typical bio-pic that tries to jam in so many out-of-context incidents as to not have any semblance of a plot, but a portrait of one week in the life of a world leader as her nation endures a period of emotional (though not strictly political) crisis. Recommended.
Is Tony Blair’s wife really an outspoken anti-monarchist?
