Reading a bit more about the railway it sounds very similar to one up Snowdon in Wales that I've been on a number of times. It looks like you had perfect visibility at the summit. I've only had that once when going up Snowdon.

I looked it up and it really does look like the same thing. We did have wonderful visibility and that isn't always assured. Storms can blow in quickly, too.
