A couple of winter rides

I've been hella busy with some freelance work stuff over the last few weeks, especially as for a fortnight starting on December 21st we lost power for some part of every day. When you are trying to work on a computer from home, routinely losing electricity and internet connectivity for up to three days at a stretch makes things difficult. Also our ( Read more... )

I absolutely LOVED the setting of Skyfall Manor and I wanted to live there. XD
Demolished dam? O_o Were any habited areas flooded by the lake when the dam broke?

Well, here are Sari's impressions of the set. You can see that it has considerably fewer mountains than in the film, but it was crazy awesome to visit.

There aren't houses directly downstream but the whole area has been on heavy flood warnings for the last few weeks and a lot of places have been inundated. I'm sure that this will have contributed.

Love that last pic - that's how it feels to be riding sometimes, a confusion of horse and sky...

The case of the vanishing lake! Somehow that's even more dramatic than everyone else's pictures of flooding.

It was certainly very impressive to see. The lack of water there strongly implies that there was a lot of water somewhere else, as well.

Forcibly relocated, certainly. As I think it happened overnight it must have been a surprise for the ducks.
