So, I got to see the Gintama movie today!! I went to Ikebukuro - the train station had tons of advertisements for Gintama manga with manga drawings of the different characters. Thanks for writing this up. I intend to buy the blu ray/ DVD when it's released in Japan. Hopefully a license for an English version has materialized for non Japanese speaking fans by then.

If not, this description will whet our appetites. ^.^

I can't wait for everyone to be able to enjoy this movie. It was really great. How Gengai, Zura and Kondo got on deathroll was also gold XD

I'm also definitely going to buy the bluray/dvd when it's out, but I hope to see it again on the big screen.. too overwhelmed the first time.

thanks for the spoilers, now i reaaaally want to watch the movie, hope it will be shown here in our country in the future, since i was able to watch the latest naruto in the cinema there is still hope...

a dvd copy is also interesting, just to have a memento of a cool-shinpachi-mask this time around.

Shinpachi was awesome in the movie ^^ he was very cool, but had moments of slipping back to his usual self then quickly correcting it, hilarious!! :)

I just want to thank you for giving me more hope for the anime's return. I already believed it wasn't going to happen, but this feels reassuring; even if it's not a complete confirmation.

I don't know if it will return, but I have hope it will! It might take a while since there's not enough manga chapters for a longer anime, I suppose!

Yeah, no one except Sorachi can really confirm such things after all. And I agree wholeheartedly. There's just soo much that we've yet to see that should definitely get animated, such as the big inevitable fights with Kamui and Takasugi.

There's also the matter of not knowing things like the old temple that Gin use to live in before he ended up in the cemetery where he encountered Otose.

And if there were certain friends of Gins past who fought and died with him that maybe we should learn about. (which is in reference to the circle of friends that tend to show up in his backflashes where they have their arms around each other).

The movie sounds interesting, and though I can imagine how things are going on... it's... different reading it THAN seeing it, sure xD. It's a shame that until we get a release date for it in DVD/Bluray it's the much time we are going to have to see it (and cursing the taxes... trying to get it it's going to be a hell for me, no hopes whatsoever in our cinemas, though |D, but would get it imported if the license for it is adquired by then, too ( ... )

Of course, I only gave the gist! xD It's really a great movie, I don't think sunrise saying there are no plans for the anime means there will be no more, gotta have faith ^^
