Gintama movie!!!!! SPOILERS~~ (edited!)
So, I got to see the Gintama movie today!! I went to Ikebukuro - the train station had tons of advertisements for Gintama manga with manga drawings of the different characters. First I went to Animate at Sunshine City, the 8th floor was turned into a Gintama gallery/merchandise space, which was amazing. I took some pics of the cutouts and Gin's vespa and the stuff that were allowed to be photographed. You can hop over to my twitter account to see the pictures.
The floor was packed with fans (well, fangirls), and there was a line on the stairs going for several floors.
The cinema was PACKED. And they had Gintama popcorn and drink sets *__* Also at the entrance we received as omake a book with sketches from the movie and a clear film bookmark(I got SD Gin and my friend got Kagura), it actually refers to a meaningful scene in the movie :)

[Spoiler (click to open)]The movie starts with a parody of anti-piracy NO MORE EIGA DOROBOU (movie thief) clip that shows before every movie in the cinema.
But eiga-dorobou turns to be jikan-dorobou time machine, that at first shows Shiroyasha fighting (with some epic bgm!!) a monk-like droid/creature/thingy that fights with glowing charms, called Enmi. Then the time machine takes Gintoki 5 years into the future, to a world destroyed by some mysterious virus which killed lots of ppl and caused the amanti to flee earth.
Oh, and he is presumed dead in this timeline.
After getting into some trouble, he gets to be rescued by cool 5 years older Shinpachi and Kagura. They each continue yorozuya in their own way after Gin's supposed death and don't get along. Shinpachi fights with Gin's Lake Touya wooden sword and Kagura has Gin's dress pattern. Oh, and no one can tell it's Gin, because his appearance is masked by a mole/snot put on his forehead by the time machine (making him into a penis shaped man cosplaying Gin and he goes by the name Jinpo xD Only Sadaharu recognizes him...)
Anyway, Gin needs to fix the time machine so he's searching for Gengai, finds out he's about to be executed along with Zura and Kondo. The Shinsengumi went rogue, and Okita turned into ruroni Kenshin. They all join Gin to rescue the three.
Hasegawa aged by 200 years, Tae is dying from the virus and is at the hospital, everyone visits her (and cries) and she can't see well so she confuses Jin-san for Gin, and thinks yorozuya are finally back together (her final wish for them to be smiling together again). Apparently Gin tried to save the world, but he ate some poison mushroom, went to the bathroom and never returned, so everyone thinks he died. Zura and Shinsengumi have become close buddies, Kondo can call him Zura and Zura can call him Gorilla XD
Hijikata's bff (or Super Mayo Brother) is Elizabeth (Eli) who forsaken the gown for a tight bodysuit and turns out pretty buff!! O:
And he speaks (no signs!)!!!!
Zura speculates about the virus and they figure it has something to do with Enmi from 15 years ago. Gin thinks he sees it still alive, and everyone joins the search to find a cure for Otae and the world. Shinpachi and Kagura, inspired by Otae's final wish return to their original looks ;__; (although taller and Kagura still has the boobs, Shinpachi also slips back into his usual personality)
Time Machine is taken hostage by Enmi, so Gin, Kagura & Shinachi go to that place (the ruins of the space terminal) to find them. Gin eventually finds the monk and epic fight #2 ensues, then when he finally beat him, the dying monk unwraps the bandages that hide his face and turns out it's this world's 5 year older Gintoki - with white hair and obvious signs of being infected by the virus. He tells the shocked present Gin that this is what he was aiming for (he's also the one that sent the time machine to the present, well, asked Gengai to). As it turns out, when he was fighting the monk 15 years ago and got cut by the glowing charms, the (nano-machine) virus went dormant inside his body. When he realized he's the one who's unleashed the virus on the world he tried to kill himself (via seppuku!!), but the virus gained control and he couldn't, so in order to save the world and kill himself, no one's better for the job than he himself (no one can beat me but me... lol)
But it's not enough to kill himself to save the world, because present Gin already has the virus in him, he needs to go back in time and kill himself as shiroyasha, and basically disappear from the world and everyone's memories. At this point, Kagura and Shinpachi show up, realize that Jin-san is actually Gin, but he's already gone and forgotten. (world is back to normal, but without Gin-chan in it!!)
But turns out the time machine, taking off the camera head, is none other than Tama-chan. She has all the data that everyone forgotten.
15 years ago - Gintoki kills Shiroyasha - but it's actually MADAO, dressed up as Shiroyasha (the armor is a mikan cardboard though) xD Turns out the world was already saved and everyone back to normal, but they all came to help Gintoki in his fight or rather to help a future where Gin-chan is saved/exists. Oh and they basically got Shiroyasha and his allies drunk so they wouldn't show up for the battle (the way MADAO said it almost had me think they done *it* again LOL) XD; They (everyone is there!) fight in their stead, Gintoki already has the virus so he has no problem fighting the monk and his charms, Kagura & Shinpachi help him in a pinch, but get captured by Enmi - all of a sudden he gets help from none other than the real Shiroyasha.. who leaves behind only his sword as memento. (He is really the coolest thing ever!!!!!) The other JOY3 also join the battle and help bring down Enmi and his minions.
After the battle won, they start to disappear back into the right timeline (Tama-chan is very convenient...)
The three have a good look at each other's faces and make a heartfelt promise to meet again, as they fade away .. but Shinpachi stays behind - only his glasses returned XDDDD
Up on a hilltop, Shiroyasha sits and watches (of course has no virus in his body now). Then Sakamoto, Katsura and Takasugiiiiiiiiii call out for him to join them... kyaaaaaah (the audience was very well behaved and didn't scream, as it's not allowed (another spoof at the start of the movie) xD)
After the awesome new song and ending credits, the second ending credits start to roll to PRAY, with stills running in a film from all the anime seasons. Then we have our normal yorozuya back together again, and late for a job, but with a smile on their faces.
The End =(
So all in all, the movie had everything, great action, humor, drama... everything you expect from Gintama. It was a lot of fun and went by really fast. I'm gonna have to watch it again soon, still overwhelmed *___*
I didn't get anything from it about the future of the anime - it could really go either way. But I think there is a good chance Gintama anime will return, it's actually quite popular in Japan, there were SO many people at the cinema, and the shops area.. lots of merchandise sold, so there's always hope :)
Anyway, the movie was amazing, and well worth the wait. Hope the wait for those who can't watch it on the big screen won't take too long.
