the boys are bigger than Elvis now!

Unfortunately, I was a little too star-struck to successfully convey to the boys that the concept of a velvet painting was meant to be funny.  I think they thought I was extremely serious about this and extremely proud of this.  Since they both seem to be polite and respectful people, they also took the whole thing pretty seriously.  c'est la vie ( Read more... )

That is hilarious. And you're right, they do look a bit...befuddled. Proud, but befuddled.

Oh, boys...don't ever change.

befuddled is exactly the right word to describe their expressions.

I forgot to mention that I luh-huve your icon. Sam, in particular, wears that 'stache with panache.

I'm laughing so hard over the fact they thought you were serious. I would love to know the inner dialog that went along with this photo op! Hee!!

It's an awesome job too!!

I bet their inner dialogue included things like "Oh my god!" and "Eek!" and "Please don't let that be a gift for us!"

*dies* Dude, I saw your pic when I was picking up mine & J's and I about fell over laughing.

You totally know Dean appreciates the Velvet!Elvis paintings even if Jensen doesn't get the hilarity in it. *g*

I think you're right that Dean would be all over it! That makes me feel better. The photo ops and the autographs are so lightning quick that my addled brain never stood a chance of explaining it all well.

My brother is the one who commissioned this for me. He was actually contacted by the show to get the velvet painting of Jesus and the Semi that you can see in Kubrick's trailer in "Bad Day at Black Rock", buuut... he never got his act together enough to call them back. They obviously found another source for velvet art. Oh well.

The painting wasn't meant to be taken seriously?
Now I feel just silly with my Jared photo op pillowcase.
It too was meant to be poking fun at myself but somehow it turned into true love.

Maybe I need to turn the photo op into a pillow case too! That's a great idea!

Careful the pillowcase is a slippery slope of insanity.
You WILL find yourself saying, "Good morning" and "Good night" to it.
AND turning it over while getting dressed. Or not.

Funny you should say that... I'm actually a trifle worried that hanging that thing in my bedroom might be a little too unnerving. It'll seem like they're glaring down at me ALL THE TIME.

The painting was genius and you know it! People thought you were the next Picasso. The Boys had reason to be befuddled with their obvious drinking problem.

Kidding!

Are you kidding about the genius that is velvet art or the boys drinking problem? :)

The painting, of course. Their drinking problem is legendary. I have quotes! Hee.
