zestien - Destruction

[A] - 1447 Mitchell Rd.

[Holland is slowly, slowly waking up amidst rubble.  Once he gets past the disorientation of not waking in bed, of not feeling rested and realizing he'd passed out . . . he's going to look for others.  Canada, he knew, was droned, and he feared the worst for her, unable to really defend herself.  He knew Hilda was much more ( Read more... )

[She'd been awake when it happened, woken by being back to herself instead of a drone. Instead of panicking, she starts to take inventory of things, looking for her bear, for her housemates. Hearing Holland, she makes her way towards him.]

Nederland! Where's Hilda?

[Hilda isn't that far off, in her Mayfield pajamas, digging through rubble with her bare hands. Her Pokeballs have to be somewhere in this mess, they have to be.]

[Canada's voice. . . it definitely was her voice, and he knew it was her because she'd called him Nederland. He gets up immediately to find where she's coming from; he sits right on the rubble from relief.]

I haven't-

[Coughing more, ugh.]

Not yet, I don't know.

And Kumarie! I don't know where she is, either! [Canada turns around where she is, looking over things, then swears under her breath as she looks back at him.]

Are you hurt?

[The Captain was scavenging too.

He had a broken bottle in one hand as a crude weapon. He waved at Holland when he saw him.]

Hoi.

[It was comforting to know that The Captain, at least, was a safe person to be around.]

[Usually, but today The Captain was powerless.]

They took my powers again. I think we're in for something bad.

[He showed the broken bottle, a pitiful weapon but it'd do for some things.]

You know I saw a movie like this once.

I lived through something like this once.

[World War II in particular. . .he hands The Captain a badly dented can of peaches.]

[He honestly couldn't believe this had happened. It was a thing of nightmares, seriously. And he needed someone to just. . confirm with him that it was true.

And so, when he saw them passing by, he'd call out to them as he approached them.]

H-hey. . !

[Canada's the first to stop and turn towards the voice. It's only a moment then before she breaks off at a quick run towards America. He may not be her sister, but he is still her neighbour and still, as far as she's concerned, the closest family she's got.]

America! [Unless he gives her a very good reason to stop, she'll be hugging him tightly now.]

[He'll watch her run off just to make sure she's okay, and when he sees America he's a little relieved it isn't somebody worse. And anyway, wasn't he almost family for her? He'll follow over, walking and looking for things as he moves.]

[He didn't have a reason to, no, and in fact he looks quite relieved to get one. He always needed to cling to something when he was scared after all.

Not that he was scared.

At least until he figured out what was going on which he intended to find out as soon as possible.]

Hey. . . so . . .all this [gestures towards the complete barren WASTELAND all around] you see it too, right? It's not just all in my head?

[scavenging for supplies was high on Charles's list of things to do as well, and he heads there after uprooting the twisted bottom half of a stop sign to use as a makeshift weapon. he's examining a cracked jar of peaches when he spots Netherlands and another from across the rubble.]

Ah, long time no see. [surprisingly, much of the usual taunting tone is absent.]

[Well. He can deal with that, but that doesn't mean he's going to just give in. You're not cute, Charles.]

I guess it's a good thing.

[as it should be! great warriors oughtn't be considered cute. he straightens, unscrewing the peach lid to absently poke around inside for glass bits.]

For the both of us, I'd imagine.

[He fishes another can out of the rubble.]

. . . you've been here awhile, right. . .

Hey, is anyone out there? ( ( Spain is yelling into the chaos, trying to find someone. Up ahead, he sees a familiar shadow (or two) and runs towards them, reaching out to catch their attention, ) ) Hey, wait, a minute! Hey, it's me--!

[No way that Holland could forget that voice; he turns around, watching Spain rush up to them.]

You survived.

[It's more of an observation than anything.]

I did! I am! I'm. . . ( ( Too much is happening at once. He has to wrap his head around them a moment before he continues. When he begins to list the people he's seen so far, he'll also list the two of them. ) ) I-- yes. Romana is well and so is Cuba and both of their families and. . . Canada and Ne-N-N--

( ( Staring at the Netherlands definitely has him remembering someone. He was going to find her next but, ) )

Have you seen Belgium?
