So Much Love

When I was a child I spent a lot of time during the Summer visiting relatives, I thought this was what you did, but I think it was just a tradition in my family. (what to do with a small child left at home when both parents work, right? Farm her out to the relatives ( Read more... )

I think it's fantastic that so many shows whose cancellation was so traumatic -- are now reincarnated on DVD, we can watch them over and over!

Kind of like the Akashic Record or something.

I still love Classic Trek (and unrepentant in that love) and grew to love DS9 though Next Gen never did much for me and Voyager was right out, no love there. Enterprise was ok, mostly because I love Scott Bakula.

Thank you for being the only other person on Earth who loves the same Trek serieses as I do! I don't think I've ever encountered anyone else who loved DS9 or who at least appreciated Enterprise (Jeffrey Combs made that show for me).

YAY! How could I not LOVE Avery Brooks and Terry Farrell and and OMGsquee! DS9 rules! I thought Enterprise had a lot of potential that went begging, but I did enjoy it anyway. But Classic and DS9 will always be my favs. I am glad we have found kindred spirits here in the intarwebs, yes? *hugs*

Enterprise finally found its footing in the 4th season, and was abruptly canceled (and has a really shitty finale that not even the cast considers canon). Classic!Trek is still new and bright and refreshing even 40+ years on, something that TNG was never able to recapture. It took all the hope and optimism of the original series and turned it into preachy smugness. DS9 was dark and thoughtful and had the best writing of any of the Trek series, hands down. And it had Garak.

Kindred spirits FTW! *high fives and hugs*

You're still a strange child. But we all are in our own ways.
We share a dislike of Voyager, and a love of all things swing.

Enterprise could have been great, but as with the other children of 'Trek' Branon & Braga ran it into the ground.

My oldest sibling is older than you so I don't think you get to call me child! *grin* We have lots in common, including swing of ever so many sorts, always did, which is why we get along so famously. *snerk*

You are right, there was a lot they could have done with Enterprise, but I don't think they cared. Bastards.
