More on wimps

Back in June, thanks to keith418, I posted a link to Hara Estroff Marano's article "A Nation of Wimps" in the Nov/Dec 2004 issue of Psychology Today.

Oh lordy, don't get me started on this one. I swear, kids today don't have one single minute of their lives unscheduled or un-supervised. While I may have chosen not to have children, I still have to wonder if that is really healthy for society as a whole.

Thankfully, "society as a whole" doesn't appear to do this - just middle-class Americans (the upper and lower classes both leaving their offspring equally unsupervised for different reasons and with different results).

I tend to think if the middle class does this, being in the middle so to speak, it will effect society as a whole.

Yes!!! This is awesome! With a nation of pussy kids, it'll make it so much easier for my potential children to terrorize the neighborhood. The next generation of Flemings will be the first generation of warrior-poet bullies!
