It's possible that my answer may disprove your theory because my characters drink beer (well, Ken does, Crawford does occasionally, and the kids do when they can get away with it) but I have yet to write anyone with an addiction to diet coke, diet ribena or that low calory pina colada-type drink from tesco!

You forgot the ticky box for blood. It has to go in 'something else' along with diet Pepsi, kumiss and scotch on the rocks, but I bet far more people's characters drink blood than diet Pepsi, kumiss and scotch on the rocks.

I think mine drink orange juice, but I haven't written very much, and the only times I've written anything substantial were the last two Nanowirimos where I wrote YA. But I do in fact drink lots of orange juice and apple qoo (and lately vegetable juice and water/pocari sweat/dakara...) I was addicted to apple qoo for a while, but I think I've gotten over that... Although now that you bring it up, I feel the need to write something where someone drinks vegetable juice. That doesn't involve Inui or PoT...

And sadly, I had to look up the seiyuu for Moji in order to figure out who you were talking about because even after the ten or so episodes I've watched, I still really only know the names of the people who have died (and Koemushi and Ushiro). But yeah, of what I've seen of him so far, I wouldn't want Moji to die, either.

Hmm, I must admit that I do have my characters drink a lot of things that I don't drink (coffee, beer, etc). I try to decide on the situation and the background and go w/ that.

good grief there's a lot of drinking in my stuff...
beverage depends on the character, and what the character wants at the moment. but yowza, there's a lot of drinking.. and very rarely any peeing! odd, that.

ah, and green ink.. i buy it for my guys at work because they do a lot of document mark-up and.... red is so oppressive, and the purple pens are miiiiine!
