Mission 003 [Video/Offline]

[Some may sense Botan before the video feed turns on. When it does, she looks... Dirty, a little ragged even, while going through the air. Something that has relief and a bit of rejuvenation on her expression, and even excited from what she's seen. In fact, those that look up might see her flying towards the festival.]

When did the festival show up ( Read more... )

oh look- a festival!, !offline, !pcd video, was getting down and dirty, was on a little trip, oar action

Is there any way to customize the talismans as time goes on, or does a new one have to be made every time you need someone else to be excluded?

I'll hopefully be able to customize it more. For the time being I was testing and seeing what did work, and ways to exclude individuals from different areas. You should have a private message to access a database. I'm hoping that with more information, we'll be able to elaborate without having to remake them.

The good news is that we can use what's normally intended for ema. So if each household's wards and talismans are given the right identifier, someone with the board to be excluded from perimeters with that mark should be safe no matter the changes or additions.

[ooc: does the database exist, or is it handwaved?]

[She nods.]

That's good. Thank you so much.

[[Handwaved. While characters across series have this kind of knowledge, the details and specifics usually aren't elaborated enough for the players to try the database for real. xD As far as I've noticed throughout different series, at least.]]

[Smiles, nodding a bit in return.]

It seems to be the safest way to keep the information in good hands, at least. It'll just take some more time and tests to know for sure. If you need help adding anything to the database, let me know and I'll show you how when I bring some of the warning talismans over.

Huh... Do they have the bacon dogs that you mentioned? We can get a bunch, pizza if they have any, and some other stuff for a picnic.

How wonderful!

[Psh. Being social won't kill you.]

Do they require anything in exchange for the food?

Right now I have mostly warning talismans together. They alert the people inside when the perimeter is breached. Not that it means the thing crossing the perimeter is there for horrible reasons, but it works for a heads up. I'll have to work on more, but they're basically set against demons.

It is better to be safe than sorry, with how things can go. I've only tested it a couple of times, but it seems some of the more dangerous animals around can trigger the warnings too. Not sure if I should try to fix that, though...

[Voice only, which he's been using, has been annoying him, so he's switched to video. He's still a little bruised from fighting with Raphael two weeks ago, but it's mostly faded, and it doesn't seem to bother him. He's much more interested in the topic at hand.]

I have received it. I'll be adding the most common of the sigils used in my world to it soon, including the anti-angel warding symbol and the Devil's Trap, both of which I have already drawn physically, along with important notes on their uses. More elaborate warding and sigils I will also be adding, but drawing them all out and adding explanations will take longer.

Raven can also be added to trusted individuals to receive this info, as well as my friends Sam and Dean Winchester, and Jo Harvelle. My brother Gabriel can as well, though he likely won't be interested.

[Oh dear... Well, at least it seems that the bruises have been healing well enough. If it was anything worrying, Castiel might be the type to use voice instead, as far as Botan can figure.]

That would be wonderful to take a look at. It'll probably take another trip to test and find the best way of combining everything, but I have a good feeling about it.

[After all, whatever she did kept her from being sensed that one day powers had come back. It's gotta count for something.]

I wouldn't object to the access being extended to any of them. Oh! I've spoken to Jo and Gabriel before. The Winchesters are from your world, correct? Perhaps they can help upload the information, so you don't have to handle it all.

[Indeed, if it had been serious he wouldn't be using video at all, but it isn't. He's nearly healed up by now.]

Of course. I want to be certain of how the different worlds' warding interact; limited experiments conducted so far with the Devil's Trap have confirmed that modifications have effects on being from other worlds. Therefore though beneficial modifications may be made, there is potential for adverse interactions.

Yes, Jo, Gabriel, and the Winchesters are all from my world. Sam would be particularly good in regards to the technical aspects.

[These two, always nerding. Nerds4Lyf yo.]

It would be useful to know if there's anything in particular to avoid when combining the two... Are there any issues in particular with these Devil's Traps that could use modifications for, that you haven't been able to yet?

Gabriel did recommend I talk to the Winchesters as well... [Though not for these reasons exactly, it was a recommendation.] You mentioned Raven as well. Is there a field they're particularly knowledgeable in as well?

Our home is guarded by my own talismans and protections, and Castiel has set up a lot of wards against the angels and demons to make it pretty hard, if not impossible, to break into unless I want someone to come in, but I won't say no to learning something new, if you wouldn't mind teaching me.

I've sensed that, but I also didn't know if there's been any issues where some things have been resistant to some world's protections compared to others. It seemed safer to offer it to everyone.

[And in a point where she's being careful, for once!]

You should have a private message waiting for you. It would be lovely if we could spend some time every now and then getting together to teach and work on combining and refining new talismans and wards. Castiel, Sango and a few others are helping out with it as well.

[ -- ooh. Rei looks intrigued.]

I'd love to help. I've been trained in the art since I was a little girl -- and Castiel has taught me some of the things he knows, when we warded the place. I'll never turn down an opportunity to learn how to make the place safer, so I'm in.

Hopefully it'll work into a plan to make some safe paths and points for newcomers after enough concrete information has been gathered.

I also have something else that I'm working on to upgrade some of the PCDs. After a few more tests, I might be able to bring it from alpha to beta testing. It's a radar based off of some spirit detective items I was tweaking and repairing back home. Though it seems like it'll take a while before it reaches that point...
