Mission 003 [Video/Offline]

[Some may sense Botan before the video feed turns on. When it does, she looks... Dirty, a little ragged even, while going through the air. Something that has relief and a bit of rejuvenation on her expression, and even excited from what she's seen. In fact, those that look up might see her flying towards the festival.]

When did the festival show up ( Read more... )

oh look- a festival!, !offline, !pcd video, was getting down and dirty, was on a little trip, oar action

[Voice only, which he's been using, has been annoying him, so he's switched to video. He's still a little bruised from fighting with Raphael two weeks ago, but it's mostly faded, and it doesn't seem to bother him. He's much more interested in the topic at hand.]

I have received it. I'll be adding the most common of the sigils used in my world to it soon, including the anti-angel warding symbol and the Devil's Trap, both of which I have already drawn physically, along with important notes on their uses. More elaborate warding and sigils I will also be adding, but drawing them all out and adding explanations will take longer.

Raven can also be added to trusted individuals to receive this info, as well as my friends Sam and Dean Winchester, and Jo Harvelle. My brother Gabriel can as well, though he likely won't be interested.

[Oh dear... Well, at least it seems that the bruises have been healing well enough. If it was anything worrying, Castiel might be the type to use voice instead, as far as Botan can figure.]

That would be wonderful to take a look at. It'll probably take another trip to test and find the best way of combining everything, but I have a good feeling about it.

[After all, whatever she did kept her from being sensed that one day powers had come back. It's gotta count for something.]

I wouldn't object to the access being extended to any of them. Oh! I've spoken to Jo and Gabriel before. The Winchesters are from your world, correct? Perhaps they can help upload the information, so you don't have to handle it all.

[Indeed, if it had been serious he wouldn't be using video at all, but it isn't. He's nearly healed up by now.]

Of course. I want to be certain of how the different worlds' warding interact; limited experiments conducted so far with the Devil's Trap have confirmed that modifications have effects on being from other worlds. Therefore though beneficial modifications may be made, there is potential for adverse interactions.

Yes, Jo, Gabriel, and the Winchesters are all from my world. Sam would be particularly good in regards to the technical aspects.

[These two, always nerding. Nerds4Lyf yo.]

It would be useful to know if there's anything in particular to avoid when combining the two... Are there any issues in particular with these Devil's Traps that could use modifications for, that you haven't been able to yet?

Gabriel did recommend I talk to the Winchesters as well... [Though not for these reasons exactly, it was a recommendation.] You mentioned Raven as well. Is there a field they're particularly knowledgeable in as well?

[Darn right~ Nerds unite!]

Presumably, issues would arise if two functions were incompatible, but that would only be known with testing or indepth knowledge of how the wards themselves work. So far, we have only been able to modify the Devil's Traps to allow certain demons, instead of trapping them indiscriminately.

The Winchesters are wellversed in a variety of subjects; they are hunters, so they know of many different types of supernatural beings and ways to combat them. Raven also seems to have generalized experience.

[It's a side the people from her world would generally never expect, save for the other pilots back in Reikai. So it's amazing to have been indulging on it for her!]

I see... Though I'm not exactly familiar with what Devil's Traps are meant to do in particular. It's good that you've been able to distinguish which ones it affects.

[Nodding, and definitely taking mental notes to put in her PCD later that evening.]

I admit, I only had the basics when I was in training to become a pilot for the River Styx. It wasn't until I was assigned to someone in the human realm and met Genkai, someone more specialized, that I started learning even more about wards and talismans.

A Devil's Trap simply traps a demon within the circle and restrains their abilities. Until the circle is broken, they cannot step out of it's bounds.

You've seemed to be quite knowledgeable so far. Wards and sigils are my area of specialty in specific.

It certainly sounds useful to know about. So it's essentially something to bind the demon in place.

[Ack, she's totally not getting flustered. It's just that she doesn't hear people calling her knowledgeable, so she feels a little embarrassed. Kurama usually ends up the type to get those comments back home.]

Ah, well aside from the basics, I had a bit of time to catch up and learn a little more while everyone else was training. It was something to do aside from getting certified as a personal trainer. It's definitely not my specialty, though it has been interesting to learn about.

Yes. It's main purpose is to allow for a conversation safely, or to give a hunter time for an exorcism.

Are there other things in particular you have learned about, aside from warding, that may be of use here?

I see...

[Ah- What else.]

I can't say that I've actually finished or developed my skills towards healing... It can work against curses, though. Between everything else, it's never been priority before. Ah- but I do know quite a bit about Reikai technology. It's generally meant for tools to help Reikai detectives on their missions, which usually involve demons. Given the right tools available, I might be able to recreate some of it for use...

I'm actually working on something right now, similar to a radar, but... I'm still working on it, before finding a way to get it to work for people without needing an energy reference from the person holding it.

Healing would be of great use here. There are multiple healers already present, but another would be beneficial, and one may be capable of assisting you in training your ability.

[He listens with interest to the idea of the Reikai technology, seeing great potential use for such a thing. A radar would be useful, like an angel's locating sense.]

If you were able to create something of that sort, what would it do?

Training it, huh...

[It definitely sounds like something to think on.]

The best way would be to link it to the map functions. When activated, a query signal would be sent out looking for something with a level of energy higher than the signal, or essentially something noteworthy. When it hits targets that have a 'signal' stronger than the query, it bounces back and is represented on the map. Most likely, the stronger the energy would have a larger or more concentrated dot.

I haven't exactly gotten that far yet... I'm working on getting the right kind of signal sent out.

[He tilts his head slightly; he understands the basics, he thinks, though he's not particularly good with technology. Even if it's supernaturally based.]

If you are capable of it, that would be of great use.

I might be able to figure it out after some more tests. Then it would just be an issue of getting the same signal sent out no matter who was using the feature. Maybe converting the energy sample into pure data will work...

If there is some way I can assist, I will do how. Otherwise, I would appreciate it if you informed me when and if you create such a thing.

If you'd like, I can add you to a list of Alpha testers. It's the phase of development where something needs demonstration and outside testing, but with enough room to change and refine things to something that can be focused on.
