Match #1: Death the Kid VS Lucas Kovach plungeintofire August 29 2012, 16:59:02 UTC

Kid wasn't a huge fan of the idea that he was in the first match. He'd been hoping to have more time to mentally prepare himself. However, this worked, too. It allowed him to fight without having who he might be facing next weighing on his mind.

He walked out into the arena, greeted by cheers of the crowd. However, that didn't matter near as much as the encouragement from Liz and Patty whom he wielded in each hand. Their resonance was very good today. Whoever their opponent was, they'd find Kid and his Weapons a tough act to take down.

He took a few deep breaths. He'd originally wanted to fight alone but, after much thought, he'd decided that whatever advantage he could get he'd take. Liz had been pretty bored with the idea but had gone along with it. Patty had been far more enthusiastic.

Lucas waved triumphantly to the crowd, putting on a brave front he really didn't feel. Why the hell had he signed up? The metal bat he had purchased a few days ago seemed less of a good idea now then it had at the time. Especially when the 'rules' were announced. Even if it wasn't permanent, dying did not sound fun.

Lucas regarded the supposed kid of the Grim Reaper and his weapons. Then, with a smirk, he pointed the bat in Kid's direction. "Not exactly a fair fight, but hell. I'll give you a work-out at least."

Kid blinked with some surprise. True, he'd seen Lucas's name up on the board, but he hadn't expected the other to be his first opponent.

However, he gave a grin to Lucas. "I'll try and make it quick and painless."

Despite his words, he was a bit unsettled. The whole mess Jennifer Walters had proven that death wasn't permanent here, but that didn't mean that Kid liked the idea of killing a friend when it wasn't necessary.

He slid into the Sin Stance, poised and ready for the signal to start.

It wasn't really a fair fight. For all of Captain Hammer's super strength and near-invulnerability, he couldn't see a shinigami. All he saw was Rukia's body collapsing (as she exited her gigai and drew her Soul Slayer), and he thought, ~Well. That's convenient!~ He'd already won! She must have done the noble thing and killed herself to ensure that the hero, the one dedicated to good causes and stuff like that, won the charm that would grant a wish. He didn't even have to worry about the bad publicity that would have come for either losing to a girl or beating up a girl ( ... )

Six didn't draw his magna blades just yet. Instead, he decided he'd wait to see what tricks his opponent had up his sleeve. Thus far, he'd been (mostly) impressed with his fellow competitors' performances. It was safe to assume that whoever his opponent was would be impressive as well.

It figured the whole thing would turn out to be a fight to the death. Harry hadn't signed up to kill anybody, and especially hadn't signed up to be killed. The fact that anybody who died would be resurrected good as new was small comfort.

Well, nothing to do about it now.

Harry stood still, carved staff in one hand, blasting rod in the other until it became clear he was going to have to make the first move. Fine. He could deal with that.

"Ventus!" He swept his staff forward, sending a gust of wind across the stadium, not toward Six but at the ground directly in front of him to kick up a blast of sand and dust into his face. A second later, the hand holding the blasting rod came up and fired off another spell, a pair of fireballs streaking across the distance and into the cloud toward his opponent.

A spellcaster? Well, he should've expected as much given that there was a dragon living here.

As soon as the first spell struck the ground, Six was on the move, racing to the right. He'd trained himself hard for years, his speed almost inhuman. He targeted where the wizard was as he circled about.

Still, he kept his swords in his sleeves. He wanted that to be a last minute surprise. For now, he only grabbed the shuriken in his jacket and, once out of the dust cloud, threw them at the other man.

Final Round plungeintofire August 29 2012, 17:01:44 UTC
All the surviving combatants were medically treated, their powers replenished, their wounds erased. Each would be in top fighting condition before they were released back into the arena for one final, bloody showdown in order to earn the prize of one charm from Attleton.

Rukia stood within the circle inscribed into the stand, her hand resting on the hilt of her zanpakutou. Her head was bowed, her eyes closed. The rest period wasn't necessary; she'd defeated her opponent with little real effort, due to the mismatch. The feeling left her sick inside, but outwardly she projected the image of calm serenity.

The same could not be said for her gigai, which lay in a disregarded heap three feet behind her, ass-first in the air.

There was no surprise in seeing Death the Kid present, as his round had seemed like another mismatch. However, she hadn't been certain if Six or the wizard man would win their round. This time? It was anyone's guess.

She waited for the others to appear before she raised her head to meet each combatant's gaze squarely, followed by a nod of somber respect. Rukia stood tall and confident, but her heart wasn't really in the fight anymore. Whether she won or lost, she did not care. She just wanted this to be over as soon as possible.

Harry glanced around the arena as the last three competitors moved into position. The arm that had been sliced open had been healed but he still had a sick feeling in his stomach over the last round. He had already seen that Six was back on his feet as if nothing had ever happened, but even knowing that, he had just executed a man while barely pausing to think twice about it and here he was for the next round, already pushing it out of his mind ( ... )

SHIT. I AM SO SORRY, YOU GUYS. I TOTALLY LOST THIS TAG. ocd_reaper October 13 2012, 15:46:01 UTC
Kid rolled in on Beelzebub. He'd witnessed the other two's matches and, to be honest, he felt slightly intimidated. The witch (wizard?) had strong magic to be wary of. On top of that, Rukia was a more experienced reaper than him.

Definitely a challenge.

With his skateboard, he could have air superiority in addition to an extra weapon. At the moment, every advantage he could get his hands on was key to victory.

Like the others, he felt a bit sick to his stomach. His fight against Lucas had been a definite mismatch. Though he knew Lucas would be fine, it still hadn't been pleasant to kill his friend.

Still, he let none of it visibly show, only his determination. He and the girls were resonating well today, and that boosted his confidence a bit. Even if he went down, he wasn't going to make it easy.
