WHAT: The Brutal Battle charm quest kicks off! It's probably not what people signed up for.

WHERE: Attleton - Colosseum
WARNINGS: Violence, possible character deaths
NOTES: Audience participants are welcome to jump in! A tag will be posted below for each match-up, along with a tag for the final competition between the last three survivors. You guys get to decide who will win each match, but if you can't for whatever reason, I'll flip a coin for you. The only way to move on is to kill your opponent (who then regenerates without penalty in the medical wing of the Colosseum). If both opponents refuse to fight, or if the match goes longer than ten minutes, an invincible giant white ape comes out and eats both combatants, and no one is happy. :C
Spirits were high in the Attleton Colosseum. People from all eras were present, dressed in togas or t-shirts, turbans or ten-gallon hats. Vendors meandered up and down the aisles, singing out the praises of cold sodas and beers, hot peanuts, and cotton candy. Everyone was eager to see the higher denizens of Genessia come together to duke it out. Some even placed bets, with odds ranging in favor of each combatant, all the way to the favor of 'Big White Ape', whoever that happened to be.
Finally, when the twelfth bell had rung out at the noon hour, a hush fell over the crowd as a man in a sequined tuxedo appeared in the announcer's balcony. The hum of electronic resonance momentarily hummed, and was followed by two echoing thumps.
"Ladies...gentlemen...spectators of all ages. Welcome... to Brutaaaaal BATTLE!"
Streamers and bursts of confetti erupted from strategically placed cannisters around the Colosseum, punctuated by a symphony of horns that played a stirring fanfare. On the numerous scoreboards ringing the Colosseum, a picture of each combatant's face with their name appeared. Some cheered for their favorites.

After the final image faded, the announcer spoke up again. "The rules are simple! For the first three rounds, each opponent faces one another. No help from the audience, please, these are one-on-one matches only. Sentient weapons are permitted, but if they ever act of their own volition, their owner will be disqualified and eaten, ha ha!"
There was a murmur from the audience. 'Ha ha'...? That was supposed to be a funny thing?
"The match ends when one combatant is dead, and the other is still standing. Each fight MUST be to the death! Failure to comply with the rules will result in disqualification and devouring." He flashed his teeth. "Now I knooooow what you're thinking. 'To the death, I can't kill anyone, that's horrible, boo hoo!'" he simpered in a high-pitched voice. "Well not to worry! Anyone you kill in the arena comes right back to life, none the worse for the wear. So slaughter each other with a clean conscience!"
Again, a slight murmur from the audience, overridden by a healthy cheer from those who had decided that was good enough for them.
"Now...let the GAMES BEGIN!"
