Portal Weighted Companion Cube plushie!

Sep 19, 2010 16:46

Hello all! Long time lurker, first time poster :) I love seeing everybody's geeky creations, so here's one of mine! This is a plushie version of the Weighted Companion Cube from the game Portal (and soon to be Portal 2)! It measures 15" across each face and is as close to life-size as I could figure from the game. Enjoy!

This way to the plushie!

Ohhhh, that's neat! You know, now that I see that, I would wonder if one could be constructed as a sort of chair? Like either with a frame inside or else as a beanbag-chair configuration? Either way, yours is too cute!

Wow a companion cube beanbag would be epic!

I think it's cute and nicely done. I was considering buying one for my siter but I couldn't see spending $75 shipped on it. I don't know what the normal price would be for handmade plushies though.. I guess it could be fair for all I know.

Sister, not siter. Ugh.

Unfortunately I've heard complaints about the price before. I wish I could sell it for less but between the materials and time it takes to make, I don't think I can. Making these for friends and as gifts is one thing, but as a service it's another. However, the smaller (10" across) cube I made as a custom order went for $40. Many thanks for the compliments though!

A lot of the plushies I was looking at on Etsy for my brother were about $40 + shipping for much, much smaller items. It seems reasonable/market price to me for a big handmade plush.

ETA: Wrote 'sister' instead of 'brother'. Stupid brain carry-overs.
