Back from Vacation...

That's Vacation with a capital 'V' because it's been over 12 years since I took one that was this long. Almost 3 weeks! It was quite the trip and I've taken over 5500 photos...that's going to take some time to process all of those! The trip was a good one, though I had to cut short several of my rockhounding side trips. I still managed to go to ( Read more... )

I'm really looking forward to the photos! I've been eager to hear about your trip.

Also, if you still want a pecan and maple trees (was it a half-dozen maples you wanted?), I'll have to see about getting them to you. Most of the trees are looking pretty ragged after the harsh summer and fall caterpillar feedings ('pillars only on the pecan). Some have shed all their leaves for winter in the past two weeks, but they're hanging in there! It's getting to the end of planting season, though it's been so warm the past few winters that I don't think it'll be a big deal even if they get planted late. At least maples like the cold. I may have to just drive them up and drop them off at your front porch since our schedules rarely seem to align!

I ought to be in town this weekend. Perhaps in the VAB area (thinking of taking the car in to let the dealer look at it) I'll see if I can't catch up with y'all and take a few treelets off your hands.

Do you know what time you plan to be down on the southside? We'll be gone much of the weekend, but we'll be home Saturday afternoon at least. We'll be heading out between 2:30 - 3 PM. I did set aside a half-dozen of the most vibrant trees for you to look at. Well, they *looked* vibrant up until the fall shedding season hit. Now they *are* still healthy but look like twigs. :)

Fun! :> Tom & I can't really take a vacation until next fall, and even then it'll be a working one for him. The closest we may get this year is a few days in MO to see my side of the family. Will you be up here this weekend? Tom plans on grilling! We can make you tiny pieces of BBQ chicken. :>

I'd love to, but the car started acting up the last couple of days on the road trip and the dealer says it's about a $5k repair, so I think I'd best use the time shopping around for second opinions.
