I'm afraid I've lost my double, Doctor. An altogether too brief an escape attempt.

We'd managed to overload the forcefield with my counterpart's Black Guardian's crystal. I certainly got satisfaction from inverting their sick little joke. We were this close to find Oliver when, well, we got surrounded. We surrendered and I haven't seen him or the crystal since.

I see you've been in that arena of theirs.

[he smiles faintly, impressed by that]

Well, maybe it's for the best. One of you is enough for me as it is. [slowly, he turns around, resting tenderly back against the jail wall, and thankfully, the same sort of injuries are not quite as bad on the front]

I am personally becoming increasingly unamused with our hosts. [Annoyed? What do you mean, annoyed?] I don't suppose they left you with anything remotely helpful, did they?

Only that they really don't appreciate someone prattling on for hours about all the firsts in the universe, like the first man to set foot on the Moon and things like that. Although, quite possibly, they didn't appreciate that I was only talking about my universe and not this one.

Oh, trust me, I'm not ignoring them. They're healing as we speak! [wiggles his hand a bit to illustrate what he means. the wounds are slowly mending themselves] Nanites, I think, or rather slow working ones. But no, I didn't fight them. They fought me.
