[When the video starts, Castiel is frowning at the Guide from very close up.]

...won't it turn on when I want it to.

Oh.

[Thankfully he pulls the Guide away from his face so it's not filling the screen any longer. He looks hesitant, as if he's not comfortable with this.]I have a question ( Read more... )

I'm attempting to blend.

[He says that with a straight face. He may or may not be serious about it.]

Little late for that, isn't it? [Gin will just assume you're always serious, Castiel.]

Why do you say that?

I believe it's more common to arrive separately, but within a relatively bearable span of time, although that said, I don't think I've seen anyone who has been here for their whole lives.

There were billions of individuals on the worlds I was on, so I haven't failed to notice that it doesn't seem exactly coincidental for some of the people I know to have arrived here.

Good luck.

That's an interesting point. The timing may be random, but the selection could be more deliberate.

So you think it's more likely that people who are connected in some way will show up here?

It would make sense, but considering how well I understand the laws of this ship, it isn't my place to give a concrete answer.

I understand. I don't think there are any "laws" when it comes to how people arrive. No two stories seem to be alike.

No pattern that I can see.

To be honest, I thought that would be the mostly likely answer.

How long have you been here?

About a year and a half.

So you've had plenty of time to observe.

[He chooses his words carefully. He's always going to be wary of you.]

I'm simply concerned for my friends from my world.

Friends, is it? Remarkable.

Is that really so unusual?

The refugee group doesn't provide the best sample for any type of reliable 'survey'. Too many unaccounted inconsistencies, and nothing to average out.

[There, wasn't I helpful?]

I'm not trying to conduct a scientific survey.

[You're just determined to annoy him, aren't you?]

[No, I'm just stating a fact. :| ]

A survey, nonetheless. No doubt an ineffectual one. Tell me, have you heard anything conclusive?

As I suspected, so far there doesn't seem to be a pattern or discernible logic.
