Succlent Paddle Plant

Me again!
Has anyone had any experience with cuttings from a paddle plant?
Would it be different than with a Jade?
Do I cut off the whole leaf?
And what is "rooting" hormone?
I wanted to give a baby plant of mine to a friend.

When I had my jade cuttings, they did just fine.
The paddle plant -not so much

You can get that rooting hormone from a big box store for only a few dollars.

I think I've seen it in Canadian Tire, but never really read it -because I didnt think I would need to use it
