Folding

Aug 17, 2015 20:50

A while ago, my sister got me one of those plastic folding boards for folding clothing - like what Sheldon uses on the The Big Bang Theory. I hadn't really used it up until recently. I had a huge pile of t-shirts to iron last week and another large pile this morning so I used it both times. Although it did make it take a bit longer, it was kind ( Read more... )

Good for you! That looks awesome. I cannot be arsed to fold my t-shirts, they stay in the clean laundry basket all week.

We do fold them, but no ironing going on here. ;)

Oh. That looks cool !
I wonder how well it works with a cat ON the t-shirt, though.... ;)

Don't your clothes get all creased if you don't iron them?

A cat on the t-shirt??

Well, shirts are hanged, and t-shirt just folded. But they were hanged to dry, so they aren't really creased.

Yes. A cat. On the t-shirt. It's a plague for cat's owner. You can do a very simple experience:

* You need :
- 1 cat
- several t-shirts or shirts to fold
* Place the shirts and t-shirts on a table, and start folding.
* Within 5 seconds, you should have a cat laying on the shirt you're trying to fold. If you're very lucky, the cat will be on the shirt you already folded, and your job will be much easier. ;)

I always thought that such a board was a lot of work. By now, after soooooooo many years of ironing and folding T-shirts, I think I do pretty well without it.
But I must admit that your drawer looks really neat

I thought it was a bit silly really and like you say, after ironing and folding clothes for several years, you get pretty good at it. It does make it take a bit longer but I think it's worth it because they all come out the same size and it's easier to organise them that way.

I love organising drawers like this :) And now you've created more space to buy more to fill the space with :p

Organising clothes just makes so much sense! Not only can you find that specific item that you have to wear right now, but it stops them all getting creased. When they were all piled up, if I pulled a t-shirt out from the middle of the pile before, it would pull on the others on either side of it and they'd get all ruched up and creased.

I was so impressed that I have space for more t-shirts. I really don't need to buy any more though...

I am v organised, you know this! :) I believe the folding board is what they use in American clothes shops, to get all the displays neat and even. It's one of those things that you don't really need, so when you get one, you probably use it for a bit and then it gets shoved to the back of a cupboard somewhere and forgotten about!

Yep, it does seem like the laundry equivalent of a sandwich toaster.. :)

You've hit the nail right on the head there, that's the best description of it ever.

Aw, is your clothing in dire need of organising? The boards cost about $15 on Amazon, I think, or apparently you can make your own out of some large cardboard boxes and duct tape.
